"I chose to study Concurrent Education with a major in French at Lakehead University for a number of different reasons. First of all, I have been in French immersion for years so majoring in French just made sense to me. I also like working with children and have been for the last few years as a summer camp worker, so being a teacher seems like a great career.

I thoroughly enjoy my language classes because they allow you to talk a lot due to the small class sizes. This wouldn't happen if you were in a large class.

When I'm not in class, I also spend a lot of time on campus because I work at the Outpost. For fun, I've tried to play rugby which was pretty cool. This year, I will be going to France on an international exchange. An exchange will allow me to become fully bilingual. Plus getting to travel around the world is a great opportunity to experience other cultures and meet new people.

My advice to any of you who are considering Lakehead is to get involved once you are here! Don't be intimidated - everyone else is starting a new process in their lives as well."
