"My favourite thing about Lakehead University Orillia Campus is the students and teachers. Since there were only 120 students in the grand opening year, we all grew close and we also got to know the profs really well.
Why did I choose Lakehead University Orillia Campus and my program? Well, since the School and Program was new, I did not know about it until after I submitted my university applications. But since I want to teach, coming here instead of doing a 4-year BA and then applying for teachers college seemed like a much smarter idea.

I'm in the Honours Bachelors of Arts and Science with the Bachelor of Education, majoring in History and Geography. I hope to eventually teach high school.
So far, my most memorable experience has been the luau that we had across the street at our campus hangout. It was held with snow on the ground and we all dressed up like we were living in Hawaii and we sang karaoke and danced like maniacs.
When I'm not in class I hang out with people from class, watch movies, read, listen to music, drive around randomly, and do random things around town, including Mariposa Market and Brewery Bay.
The class sizes and the quality of the professors is not like anywhere else you will go. The profs here are not only the best but they always make time to explain anything you may not understand. If you are looking for a school where everyone knows you and the profs know you by name, Lakehead Orillia is for you."
