"I love the small class sizes, and the close relationships I have with the students and professors. It is such a nice feeling to know your professors know you by name and personality, and not by a number.
I chose Lakehead because it was close to home and I wanted to be a part of creating this new campus. As for my program, teaching is what I have wanted to do since I was 10. And this was a perfect opportunity to excel in the two areas I am good at, Math and English, in the same program.
The clubs and teams we have are a great way to get involved at school, and are tons of fun! We may not be a large campus, but we definitely have the most heart. We are starting something that is going to make history, who wouldn't want to be a part of that?"

Smaller class sizes means more professor attention and a closer-knit community. When you know your professors and they know you it makes your time here at university much less stressful.
Being part of the Charter Class (2006/2007) was the most memorable experience at Lakehead. With such a small number of students (about 120) everyone got to know each other and we all became very close. And the professors were in the same situation we all were, a new setting, new classes, and a new routine. The school was new for everyone and we were all able to create the atmosphere of Lakehead University- Orillia campus together. The clubs and teams we have are a great way to get involved at school, and are tons of fun!
