Admission & Application Information for High School Students Enroled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program
International Baccalaureate (IB) Admission Requirements:
- IB Diploma with a total score of 28* in six subjects, three of which must be at the Higher Level (HL) with no score less than 4 in any subject
- Program specific prerequisite courses
*Higher scores may be required for admission to programs in which the demand for places by qualified applicants exceeds the supply of available spaces.

Please note: For some programs, like Engineering and Nursing, a minimum grade is required for prerequisite courses.
Transfer Credit Eligibility:
Applicants presenting the IB Diploma may be considered for advanced standing credit in some Higher Level (HL) subjects provided a score of 5 or better has been attained in the higher level subject. Please note that Engineering programs are not eligible for IB transfer credit consideration.
How to Apply:
The Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) processes and distributes applications for all universities within Ontario for individual universities to assess. Where you are currently studying or have studied in the past will dictate which application you will use.
Ontario Secondary School Applicants
If you are taking courses during the day at an Ontario Secondary School (this includes students returning for second semester and graduated students returning to upgrade one or more courses)

To apply, your Guidance Office will provide you with an Access Code letter containing information required to apply online (school number, student number and PIN). Please see your Guidance Office for more information regarding your Access Code letter.
Ontario Secondary School Graduates & Out-of-Province High School Applicants
If you have graduated with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and have not attended any post-secondary institution since graduating or if you have studied or are currently studying in a high school outside of Ontario

Applicants are to submit the following required documents as part of the application process:
- Official Transcripts:
For Current Ontario Secondary School Applicants: In most cases, your grades will be sent to Lakehead from your high school via OUAC. If you are taking courses through summer school, you must arrange for the final official grades to be sent to tEnrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions.
For All Other Secondary School Graduates: Submit official high school transcripts directly from the issuing institution to Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions at Lakehead University. - Language Proficiency Requirements (if applicable)

- Art Portfolio (Visual Arts applicants only)
