Voices From the Class of 2017
Seeking Convocation Student Speakers: Voices from the Class of 2017
This year, each of the four Convocation ceremonies will feature a student speaker. If you are graduating this spring and attending your Convocation ceremony, we invite you to submit an application to be the “Voices from the Class of 2017” at your ceremony.
This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the official Convocation ceremony, infusing the ceremony with the student voice as you share reflections on your Lakehead experience. The speech should strive to inspire and motivate the graduating class. While there is no specific theme, the speech should be relevant, encouraging and memorable for all graduates.
In order to be considered for this prestigious opportunity:
- You must be graduating by May 2017 and attending your Convocation ceremony
- You must complete the application form and submit all required documents by the deadline date of February 17th, 2017.
- You must be comfortable making a short inspirational speech of no more than 3 minutes to a large audience
- You must be available to present your speech to the selection group if you are identified as a finalist for consideration
