Computer Science Spotlight

The computer science degree-diploma combination provides a theoretical and applied framework that complements the practical skills and computer science knowledge necessary to understand and work with complex computer systems. The comprehensive curriculum exposes students to several programming languages, including Java and C/C++.

You’ll gain hands-on work experience through two mandatory paid co-op work terms during the summers following the first and second year. Students are encouraged to work on research projects with faculty members.

Prepare for a career in technology, such as software and gaming development. Graduates may also be employed in related fields including mobile application development, healthcare informatics, and internet security. You may also choose to pursue a graduate degree in computer science (MSc and PhD).

The Applied Life Sciences degree-diploma program blends theories and practices from anthropology, biology, chemistry and physics with hands-on learning through laboratory courses, application of experimental techniques and use of scientific equipment with small class sizes. You'll explore diverse topics to understand the extent of biological diversity at the molecular level and develop critical thinking skills with respect to modern life sciences.
