Welcome to Ontario’s newest law school!
Our three-year Law degree (JD) focuses on access to justice in non-metropolitan communities by preparing graduates to practice in smaller centres and in smaller firms – in 'Main Street' Canada.
The school will only admit 55 students each year and will take full advantage of its small size. Classes will be small and students will be given hands-on opportunities to apply the law that they learn in class. Emphasis will be placed on legal skill training including: written and oral communication, legal research, drafting, negotiation, interviewing and trial advocacy. Our goal is to develop students with leadership and critical thinking abilities who are aware of the social and ethical responsibilities of the legal profession and who are lawyer ready.
The curriculum reflects the reality of non-metropolitan lawyering with special focus on aboriginal law and natural resource law and what students need to practice law effectively.
Our program is available to students who have already completed a degree.
