Undergraduate Programs in Sustainability
Honours Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Economics)
The sustainability of our environment and natural resources are key and pressing 21st century issues, especially in light of climate change and global warming. As such, professionals who understand the interdisciplinary nature of environmental and natural resource issues are in demand.
This program enables students to understand and evaluate how economic activity impacts the environment, combining the academic intensity of an economics degree with the scientific depth and breadth of an environmental science degree.
While studying environmental economics, students will examine resource allocation and choices made with respect to policies dealing with water quality, air pollution, waste disposal and climate change. Meanwhile, the natural resource component will provide a focus on the economics of resource extraction, depletion, and how we use the resource base to ensure future availability.
