Attending last year's Career and Co-operative Education event as applicants, this year they will be attending Career Day as recruiters.

(Thunder Bay) Success breeds success, for Geology Professor Dr. Pete Hollings. Last June Hollings received the William Harvey Gross Award, given for significant contributions in the field of economic geology. As a result of winning the Gross Award, the Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay is now recognizing him as a Citizen of Exceptional Achievement.

(Thunder Bay) Lakehead University is pleased to announce the winners of the Lakehead University "Do Something" contest. Schools were asked to submit a project demonstrating engagement in issues concerning climate change, the environment, and social, economic, and political issues. Each of the winning submissions exhibited creativity, originality, continuity, and engagement.

Located in Orillia, this position will be responsible for financial and operational oversight for Lakehead University Orillia Campus.

(Thunder Bay) On Saturday, October 18, Lakehead University will host the fourth annual Go Eng Girl! program. Go Eng Girl! is a province-wide program which provides opportunities for young women and their parents to meet women engineers and engineering students, learn about some of the amazing projects that women engineers are currently working on, and participate in exciting hands-on activities.

(Thunder Bay) Today, Lakehead University announced an offer of free tuition for Canadian students coming directly from a recognized Canadian high school with a 95% average. This is a unique entrance scholarship in that no other university in Ontario rewards students with free tuition at the same level for four years.

(Thunder Bay) In March 2008, the Centre for Education and Research on Aging and Health (CERAH), Lakehead University, was awarded $126,817 from Canadian Partnership Against Cancer to implement a consultation project that would validate core competencies for social practice in hospice palliative care, and implement these competencies into university curricula and continuing education programs nationally.
