(Thunder Bay) With a background in forestry and GIS, and a desire to improve the value that urban landscapes and neighbourhoods can get from trees, Lakehead students Bradley Doff and Peter Stevens created a four-minute stop-motion film that uses the Lakehead University-Thunder Bay campus as a case-study. The stop-motion film informs, entertains, and hopes to win the People's Choice Award for the TD Go Green Challenge.

(Thunder Bay) Lakehead researchers, led by Dr. Chris Southcott, have received $2.5 million from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Major Collaborative Research Initiatives grant program. Minister of State for Science and Technology, Gary Goodyear, was on campus to make the announcement, accompanied by Dr. Chad Gaffield, SSHRC President, and Kenora MP Greg Rickford.
