Dr. Josephine Tan, C.Psych.

Dr. Tan's research interests are in mental health, social issues, and ethics and morality from a cultural, gender, and systemic perspective, and includes international psychology and Indigenous psychology.  She is also a supervisor for the Collaborative Graduate Program with Specialization in Women's Studies. Current projects are on depression, self-harm behaviours, emotion regulation, attachment, and leadership. Her recent publications address issues relating to gender and culture in leadership and interpersonal violence, and the guiding principles in working with Indigenous individuals and groups and their relationship to the Canadian Code of Ethics.  She also works with First Nations adults and families from a trauma-informed perspective. Her international work currently focuses on democracy and ways of managing cultural diversity. She is an APA Fellow.
