Dr. Anthony Larivière did graduate studies in philosophy at McGill University and the University of Western Ontario, where he received his PhD. His expertise is in the history and philosophy of science, especially the development and exploitation of scientific methods and methodologies, and in the intersections of scientific and other (particularly legal) standards of evidence and proof. His most recent work is on the relations between the concepts of privacy, state security, and secrecy, their deployment in government policy and legislation, and the viability of arguments for legal limitations on or extensions of these.
