HBASc Graduate - Orillia Campus
Orillia, ON
"I chose the Orillia Campus because I felt assured that I was going to have excellent academic support and guidance. I also liked the idea of a small "new" campus. Going back to school at my age seemed a bit daunting at a big and impersonal campus. Here at the Orillia Campus - you can have a very real and personal connection to professors and staff.

"After high school I decided to go to Fanshawe College to get my diploma in Electrical Engineering. I then chose to move to Thunder Bay to go to Lakehead University for the Engineering Transfer Program. I wanted to complete my degree in 2 years so I could get right into the workforce and Lakehead provided me the opportunity to do so.

Lakehead had everything I needed: Small classes, great program, interactive environment, all the support I can get if needed and a new adventure. Being far from home, Lakehead welcomed me into a new family, where I can honestly say I have had the time of my life.

I really got a sense of what the Lakehead community valued for themselves and students – not only was this a great place to earn your degree, but a place to grow as individual whether that be through research initiatives, community activities or becoming a campus LEADer!

Honours Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Northern Ontario School of Medicine
Thunder Bay, ON
With a small student population, Lakehead made me feel like an individual instead of a number. Lakehead University is unconventional in the fact that it provides the framework for friendships and camaraderie, rather than competitiveness. Lakehead does this by having small class sizes and offering opportunities for students to come together in social, sporting, and academic activities.

Honours Bachelor of Commerce
Thunder Bay
My first two years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program introduced me to all aspects of business. All of the professors are really great and are always available to help me outside of the class. By the end of second year I knew most of them on a first-name basis.
The Lakehead University Business Association (LUBA) has many events planned throughout the year for business students, and I recommend going to as many as you can. It’s a great way to socialize with profs and students outside of the classroom.
