Dr. Lin is Professor of International Business & Entrepreneurship and Director of Canada-China Institute for Business & Development at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University. He taught previously at Penn State's School of Professional Graduate Studies and the University of Windsor. Dr. Lin is Vice President (Research) of the Canadian Council for Small Business & Entrepreneurship and has been Canada Chapter Chair of the Academy of International Business until 2016. He has published his research in top-tier scholarly journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, Journal of World Business, Journal of International Marketing, and Journal of Business Ethics, and a 2006 report by Michigan State University ranked Howard among the top 40 most prolific scholars in international business research based on cumulative publication counts in five leading international business journals. His current research is focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, and he is on the Canadian team of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, an international consortium of university scholars from more than 70 countries. Dr. Lin is the founder of the Canadian Entrepreneurship & Innovation Platform, a non-profit organization that promotes and facilitates entrepreneurship.
Dr. Lin was born and raised in China. He has received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Oklahoma State University. He worked at the Bank of China’s headquarters’ in Beijing where he served as an economist, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Center for International Trade Development in Stillwater, where he served as Director of International Business Assistance.
