To kick off International Education Week 2021, please join us for the "Canada Through My Eyes"" event. Canada Through My Eyes" will showcase the unique perspectives of international students as newcomers to Canada who will share their personal experiences through writing, poetry, and art. This interactive display will take place on Monday, November 15 from 10AM - 2PM in the Agora (Thunder Bay Campus).
All submissions will be displayed at the event on November 15th and will also be posted on the website linked below. We invite the Lakehead University community to vote on their favourite submissions, and the top three winners selected will win some amazing prizes.
Join us for an exploration of how different cultures come together in their cuisine! Ismel Gonzales (Director, English Language Centre) and Lateefah Olatunde (International Student Advisor, International Student Services) will be making chicken stew, plantain, and rice in their respective Cuban and Nigerian versions.
Join us for the Cultural Lunch series! This event will feature a panel discussion about the many religions on our campuses at Lakehead. Each panelist will be telling us about their religious practices, daily or cultural rituals to create awareness and understanding about different religions from around the world that are at Lakehead.
Join the Latin American team as we explore different treats from Mexico and Colombia . We will introduce you to the traditional way of making hot chocolate and cheese bread - the perfect pair for the upcoming winter months.
Join us for a specialized Study Abroad Information Session that will highlight the north2north mobility program! North2North is a student exchange program with a Northern focus, featuring participating universities in Denmark, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Canada, the United States, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland. Participate in this session to learn more about participating universities, funding opportunities, the application process, and more!

The National Student Exchange (NSE) provides accessible collegiate study away to undergraduate students at member colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Participate in this session to learn more about participating universities, financial matters, application processes, and more!
Join us for the Cultural Lunch series! During this session, three students will be sharing tales about their travel to Canada. International Student Assistants from the International Student Services department will moderate the discussion and participants questions about their experiences. Join us to hear the unique perspectives of our international students and hear experiences from newcomers about their transition to Canada!
Join this Q&A session and hear from past English Language Centre (ELC) students about how the Academic English Program (AEP) prepared them for their degree program at Lakehead University! David Fish (Academic Coordinator, English Language Program) will moderate the discussion.
