What you will be learning:

  • Outbound prospecting utilizing telephone/email/LinkedIn and other Sales tools to identify prospect and customer needs while promoting OpenText solutions

  • Build out key contacts in our CRM database
  • Gather insights using market data and industry intelligence to improve the data quality and knowledge around our key accounts

What does the Channel marketing team do?

The Marketing department is focused on developing and driving the OpenText brand, creating clear and compelling product messaging, and generating demand for OpenText products and solutions across the globe.

The Marketing Intern will be joining the Channel Marketing team, which consists of four Business Unit Channel Marketing Managers enabling and supporting OpenText partners to compliment and extend their marketing abilities, two Senior Partner Program Specialists overseeing partner communications and managing partner platforms, and the Partner Program Manager who leads corporate sponsorships partner loyalty and recognition programs.

What you will be learning:

General Business Skills:

  • Team collaboration and individual contribution to research best practices, content creation, analysis, and administrative functions.
  • Gain an understanding and support with the execution and tracking of the partner loyalty and incentive program.
  • How to build sponsor resources, organize the collection of marketing assets, develop tracking documents, and drive awareness for the Partner sponsorship program.
  • How to establish a communication cadence with internal stakeholders, manage expectations and report on progress.
  • Gain an understanding of the marketing, sponsorship, and communication processes.
  • How to develop communication plans, social media promotions, support with partner communications (monthly channel chatter newsletter, ad hoc emails, OpenText World events, webinars).
  • Microsoft Office skills, Eloqua, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Sprout Social, Outlook, Social Media platforms.

What it takes to be successful:

  • Must self-identify as an Indigenous person in Canada such as First Nation, Métis or Inuit to be eligible for this position
  • Current Undergraduate level Lakehead University student.
  • Strong research and comprehension skills; ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Strong time management, organization, and presentation skills

  • Ability to support with multiple administrative tasks for sponsorship process and partner loyalty program
  • Be able to handle concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and follow-up with internal teams to ensure projects are on track for required deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of content creation, social media marketing, email communications.
  • Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office are an asset.

This position will focus on reviewing contracts, customer entitlements and quote preparation. Leveraging multiple business tools including SAP, SalesForce and Assure.
