Event Overview:

  • STARTING POINT: University Centre, Agora - Lakehead University, 955 Oliver Rd (google map link)
  • Campus Tours daily from 9:00 - 10:30 am and 1:00 - 2:30 pm
  • Residence Tours daily at 10:30 am, 12:00 pm & 2:30 pm (45 minutes in length)
  • Library Tours daily from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm
  • Student Services drop-in sessions from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 2:30 - 4:30 pm:

  • Take a guided bus tour of the City of Thunder Bay: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 3:30 - 5:00 pm
  • Meet with a professor in your area of academic interest.

  • Attend a Program Showcase Session for one of the following: Applied Life Sciences, Chemistry, Kinesiology, Natural Resources Management, Nursing, Social Work, Outdoor Recreation, and Engineering 
    • Applied Life Sciences: Meet with faculty members and explore our Applied Life Sciences labs
      • Thursday 9:30 - 11:00 am
    • Chemistry: Meet with the Chemistry academic advisor to discuss degree options and take a tour of the teaching and research facilities that you will use as a Chemistry student
      • Wednesday 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
      • Thursday 1:00 - 2:30 pm
    • School of Kinesiology: Meet faculty, talk to current Kinesiology students, tour the Kinesiology labs

    • Natural Resources Management: Explore the possibilities in Natural Resources Management in our labs and classrooms; engage faculty and students as they answer your questions about our Forestry and Environmental Management programs and international fieldschools; see what goes on with research in wood science and discover the exciting world of UAV drones.

    • School of Nursing: Visit the Simulation Lab and see a lab in action, engage with Nursing faculty

    • Social Work: Meet the Director of Social Work, Field Coordinators, current students, learn more about community research that professors are doing, and explore your future career options

    • School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism: Meet and mingle with faculty, take part in an interactive Group Dynamics class, learn about the program, and interact with current students.

      • Chemical Engineering: Tuesday 10:30 am - 2:00 pm (Meet the Chair of Chemical Engineering, interact with current students, attend an "Introduction to Chemical Processes" class, and have lunch with us.)
      • Civil Engineering: Tuesday 9:00 am - 12:30 pm (Meet the Chair of Civil Engineering and current students for a tour of our labs, attend "Water Supply and Waste Systems" class, have lunch with us.)
      • Electrical Engineering: Tuesday 9:00 am - 12:30 pm (Meet faculty and current students for a tour of our facilities, attend "Electric Circuit Theory" class, have lunch with us.)
      • Mechanical Engineering: Thursday 11:15 am - 2:00 pm (Meet the Chair of Mechanical Engineering and current students, attend "Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning" class, have lunch with us, take a tour of the labs.)
      • Software Engineering: Thursday 9:45 am - 12:30 pm (Meet current students, attend "Database Systems" class, have lunch with students and the Chair of Software Engineering.)
