Course Title:
Biogeochemistry
Description:
Biogeochemistry introduces the student to the fundamentals of biogeochemical cycling. Process and reactions governing elemental cycles in the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere are discussed. Global change is investigated by focusing on chemical, physical, geological, and biological processes that cycle elements through the Earth's system. Topics such as the origin of life, global element cycles, global change, and the global carbon budget will be covered.
