Aligned with this year's Research and Innovation Week theme "Our Changing World", this year's Research Showcase highlights how Lakehead University research projects, innovative collaborations and initiatives are playing a role in the achievement of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Carbon sequestration - a solution to increasing greenhouse gas emissions across the globe - has emerged as a top scientific priority for nations grappling with the severe consequences of a warming planet. A recent Lakehead partnership sought to approach the issue at a local scale while looking towards the future of a global effort.
