Lakehead University will be a leader in entrepreneurship and innovation in Northwestern Ontario and Simcoe County in support of culturally appropriate and environmentally sustainable social and economic objectives.
Lakehead Orillia Voice
Lakehead Orillia will lead entrepreneurship and innovation cluster activities in Simcoe County by connecting our academic and research strengths with community-driven initiatives. Furthermore, we will support the development of the Community Zone model in alignment with community and industry partner needs.
The Office of the Principal will
- In conjunction with the Office of the Provost, develop a strategy for on-campus support for co-operative education, work-integrated and experiential learning opportunities;
- In partnership with the Office of the Provost, develop enhanced career services at Lakehead Orillia to help students seamlessly transition into the workforce upon graduation;
- Work with the PACED to expand our local presence by strengthening our connections with community, business, and research partners;
- Foster relationships with Indigenous communities to identify ways to advance and positively influence culturally appropriate entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities;
- Expand Lakehead Orillia’s range of professional development programming through the Community Zone, including through CELL program offerings; and,
- Support partnerships to develop local entrepreneurship and regional innovation clusters in Simcoe County.
