TBAY ON THE MOVE :The Active Commute Challenge is Back!
Workplace Wellness Update for Thunder Bay and District
The Active Commute Challenge is Back!
Join workplaces across the City and District in the Active Commute Challenge (ACC) this June! Choose active and sustainable transportation options like walking, biking, rolling, jogging, or transit instead of driving alone.
Many adults spend much of the day sitting — at desks, in meetings, and in the car. Your commute is one of the easiest ways to add movement back into your daily routine. Even small changes, like walking part of your route or swapping short car trips for active travel, can boost energy and focus, improve mood, and support overall health. Not to mention, save on gas!
Track your trips, compete with other workplace teams, and climb the leaderboard for a chance to win prizes. The ACC is a fun way to build healthier habits, strengthen team spirit, and support a more sustainable and connected community.
Early bird registration runs May 18–31, so take advantage of the great weather forecast this week and log some active commutes to win prizes!
Resources are available to help you commute safely, lock your bike securely, and encourage active travel in your workplace. Check out the FAQs page or contact TBDHU’s Physical Activity Team at physicalactivity@tbdhu.com for support.
