Amy grew up in Thunder Bay and received her H.B.A. in English Literature and her B.A. in Psychology from Lakehead University. She received her LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004.
Amy has worked as a lawyer in private practice in Thunder Bay for the past 14 years in the areas of tax dispute resolution, tax litigation, general litigation and employment law. Amy has been actively involved in mentoring and supervising law students in the areas of written and oral advocacy, client management, file management, legal research, legal analysis and professional ethics. Most recently, Amy has worked as a lawyer at the Office of the Worker Adviser, an independent agency of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, providing legal advice, education and representation to injured workers in the areas of workplace health and safety and workers’ compensation issues.
