Teacher Leadership, Part 1

Teacher Leadership, Part 1 provides candidates with the opportunity to gain knowledge about the forms of leadership, qualities of leadership and ways that leadership are portrayed within the school community. The course supports the expectations outlined in the Ministry of Education curriculum policy documents and other Ministry of Education policies. This course will be of interest to all teachers who are interested in acquiring the basic knowledge necessary to enhance their understanding and
professional journey of teacher leadership.

First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Studies Specialist

This series of courses aims to utilize critical pedagogy to explore the multiple facets of teaching and learning in a holistic manner. Developed in collaboration with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) community members, the three courses in this series are intended to recognize and honour the rich cultural history of these groups, in relation to the Canadian educational context.

Mathematics Primary & Junior (P/J) Education Part 1 - TBDCSB

This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to create a dynamic community of mathematicians in your classroom. By completing this course, you will be able to broaden your understanding of mathematical concepts and their development so that you can determine your students’ abilities and then design lessons to meet their needs.

This course is open to TBCDSB Teachers Grades 1-4 only.

This course provides Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board teachers with the knowledge and skills to create a dynamic community of mathematicians in your classroom. By completing this course, you will be able to broaden your understanding of mathematical concepts and their development so that you can determine your students’ abilities and then design lessons to meet their needs.

Mathematics Primary & Junior (P/J) Education Part 1

This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to create a dynamic community of mathematicians in your classroom. Outdoor Experiential Education

This course provides K-12 teachers with the theoretical foundations of outdoor experiential education, and the necessary program planning, development and implementation, instructional strategies, assessment and evaluation, and support for ongoing professional growth required for high-quality outdoor experiential education.

Co-operative Education Specialist

This course is designed for each candidate to develop a Co-operative Education plan for use at the board level as well as the leadership skills for its implementation. It is expected that the plan will be in operational or workable form. The practical activities form an integral part of this course.
