About the Event

Lakehead University is hosting Carmine Stumpo, President & CEO of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital to share his thoughts on research and innovation in the healthcare sector. He will focus on the key elements necessary to bring people together towards a shared purpose to challenge the status quo and create win-win opportunities with different ways of approaching common problems. Carmine will share his experiences in a variety of healthcare settings, including local examples of health care transformation in the Orillia and surrounding area. Attendees will learn about how research and innovation principles can be directly applied to improving the health and wellbeing of our community.

About the Speaker

Carmine Stumpo is the President and CEO of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH). Carmine brings over 20 years of healthcare experience as a clinician and leader in a wide range of clinical and support services. Most recently, Carmine was the former Vice President, Programs of Michel Garron Hospital in Toronto. Carmine has a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Athabasca University.

Since joining OSMH in July 2018, Carmine has been a strong advocate the value of high quality, local health care.  He has provided strategic leadership in transforming care through integration in close partnership with primary care, other health care and community service providers. Carmine has also engaged the OSMH community in long range planning that will support this vision of integrated care with a modernized facility for OSMH.
