Special screening of the Ron Harpelle and Kelly Saxberg film “Banana Split”, which explores the north/south split between Canadian consumers and the people whose lives revolve around the curvaceous fruit from the herbaceous plant.
 
The Resources, Economy and Society Research Group is pleased to present a full day forum on Tuesday, March 20 during Research and Innovation Week 2018. Join us for a full day of panels and discussions on poverty, food insecurity, social justice and civic engagement.

Leonard Cohen "In His Own Words" a film by Dalibor Misina

Filmmaker and Lakehead University professor Dr. Dalibor Mišina will present a special screening of his documentary, Leonard Cohen: In His Own Words, at the Orillia campus on Monday, March 19 as part of Research and Innovation Week.
 
In Leonard Cohen: In His Own Words, Dr. Mišina, professor of sociology at Lakehead’s Thunder Bay campus, offers an unmediated insight into Leonard Cohen's thoughts on growing up, writing, love, monastic life, the human condition, and 'the third act' – key themes that run through Cohen's work and inform his philosophy of life (and death). Scheduled to coincide with the 47th anniversary of the release of Cohen’s third album, Songs of Love and Hate,the session will take place from 7 – 9 p.m. in OA 1033. 
 
There will be a question and answer session directly following the screening.
Members of the public are invited to attend any of the events happening at the Orillia campus during Research and Innovation Week, March 19 to 21.  All events take place at 500 University Avenue in Simcoe Hall and are free to the public.

Environmental Sustainability Research Panel
