Taylor J. Green

Taylor's research engages a theoretical lens for understanding the relationship between technology and politics. He examines the early modern period's conquest of nature and its reception in counter-Enlightenment thinkers, to uncover a foundation for technological issues impacting politics today, such as artificial intelligence's influence on democratic institutions. Taylor specializes in the study of nineteenth and twentieth-century German political thought, modern and contemporary political theory, the philosophy of technology, continental philosophy and phenomenology, and postmodern conceptions of politics and community. His forthcoming book entitled Technological Modernity: Hegel, Heidegger, and the Mastery of Nature (Palgrave-Macmillan) studies contemporary issues of technology and politics by tracing the transition from mastering nature to technology.
