How to Apply

If you are taking courses during the day at an Ontario Secondary School (this includes students returning for second semester and graduated students returning to upgrade one or more courses): 

--->  Apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre on the Undergraduate Application Form
IMPORTANT: You will need your Ontario Education Number (OEN) to apply.  The OEN is a 9-digit, unique identification number assigned to elementary and high school students across the province.  You can find your OEN on your report card.  Your high school guidance counsellor will also have it on record.  

If you have graduated with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and have not attended any post-secondary institution since graduating:

--->  Apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre on the Undergraduate Application Form

Please note: Lakehead University will consider applicants for 'conditional' admission upon successful completion of the General Admission Requirements. Applicants are encouraged to apply when the application opens. 

 

Required Documentation

You are to submit the following required documents as part of the application process:

Official Transcripts
For Current Ontario Secondary School Applicants: In most cases, your grades will be sent to Lakehead from your high school via OUAC. If you are taking courses through summer school, you must arrange for the final official grades to be sent to Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions.

For All Other Secondary School Graduates: Submit official high school transcripts directly from the issuing institution to Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions at Lakehead University.

Language Proficiency Requirements (if applicable)

If you are applying to our Media, Film & Communications or our Music programs, you will need to satisfy additional requirements. Learn more about the Media, Film & Communications portfolio requirement and the Music audition and theory test requirements

 

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Lakehead accept Summer School/Night School/Correspondence?
Yes - Lakehead University accepts Grade 12 U or M courses, or equivalent, taken through summer school, night school, or correspondence. It is your responsibility to inform Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions of any courses taken outside of regular high school and to ensure that final official grades are received by the transcript deadline listed below.

2. How does Lakehead treat repeated courses?
Lakehead University does not penalize high school students who have repeated courses. The highest Grade 12 U or M grade, or equivalent, will be used when calculating the admission average.

3. Do you offer credit for AP/IB Exams?
