How to Apply
To apply to any undergraduate program offered at Lakehead University (excluding the Juris Doctor, Two-Year Bachelor of Education or One-Year Honours Bachelor of Social Work programs), the application form used will vary on the number of courses you intend to complete during your time at Lakehead University.
For full-time studies and part-time studies: (four or more full course equivalents)

Required Documentation
Applicants are to submit the following required documentation as part of the application process.
- Official Transcripts
- Course Syllabi (if requested)
- Language Proficiency Requirements (if applicable)
- Consent Form & Reference Letter (Nursing transfer applicants only)

Transfer Credit
Transfer credit refers to the number of course equivalents you may be awarded towards your Lakehead degree based on previous (accredited) post-secondary studies at the university level.
Procedures & Eligibility for Transfer Credit:
- To initiate the transfer credit assessment, applicants should refer to their letter of acceptance for instructions.
- A minimum grade of 60% (C or equivalent) must be achieved in accredited degree level courses in order for transfer credit to be considered.
- courses with no numerical/letter grade assigned cannot be considered.
- Up to a maximum of 15 full credits towards a four-year Bachelor's degree program, and a maximum of 10 full credits towards a three year Bachelors' degree program may be granted.
- The amount of transfer credit received depends on a number of factors including grades, previous course work, the program applied to at Lakehead University.
- Students entering through our Academic Support Access Program will be considered for transfer credit on a case-by-case basis.
- A maximum of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of all required documentation is required by Undergraduate Admissions to complete the transfer credit assessment.
Institutionally prepared course syllabi must be sent to docs.admission@lakeheadu.ca. Please include your first and last name and student ID in the subject of your email. All course syllabi must be sent in individual PDF files.
