How to Apply

As an applicant that is currently attending a high school outside of Canada or previously attended a high school outside of Canada, you will:

--->  Apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre on the Undergraduate Application Form

Please note: Lakehead University will consider applicants for 'conditional' admission upon successful completion of the General Admission Requirements. Applicants are encouraged to apply when the application opens. 

Required Documentation

Applicants are to submit the following required documentation as part of the application process.

  1. Official Transcripts
  2. Language Proficiency Requirements (if applicable)
  3. Audition & Theory Test (Music applicants only)
  4. Portfolio (Media, Film, & Communications applicants only)


Transcript Information for Out-of-Province High School Applicants:

Secondary School Transcripts
You will need to contact your secondary school's guidance office to make the necessary arrangements for your secondary school grades to be sent directly to Undergraduate Admissions at Lakehead University. To be considered for early admission, you should ensure that an official hardcopy transcript of your grades is sent directly to Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions at Lakehead University as soon as first semester grades are available.

Grades for Secondary School Students in British Columbia:
If you are currently studying at a British Columbia high school, your midterm (May) and final (July) grades will be submitted electronically to Lakehead University via the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). You will need to provide authorization to the Ministry of Education, Skills & Training in British Columbia to release your academic record to OUAC.

To be considered for early admission, you should ensure that an official hardcopy transcript of your grades is sent directly to Undergraduate Admissions at Lakehead University as soon as first semester grades are available. Please request for an official transcript, in a sealed envelope, to be sent directly from your secondary school office to Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions. 

Quebec CEGEP Transcripts:

If you have attended or are currently attending a Quebec CEGEP, you have the option of having your grade information sent automatically from OUAC to the Office of Admissions at Lakehead University. You will need to indicate your Quebec Code permanent in the appropriate section of the application to allow the OUAC to collect and transfer your grades electronically. You will not need to forward hardcopy transcripts from your CEGEP.

March 1, 2026

Applications will still be accepted after this date pending space availability. 

 

Deadline to Accept Offer, and Receive Confirmation Deposit Payment
