How did the alpaca express its gratitude to Lakehead Students? 

It came to Lakehead Orillia and said, "I'm al-paca full of appreciation!"

Yes, you read that correctly, there will be an alpaca on campus on October 31st from 12 pm - 2 pm. Stop by outside the Dining Hall and get your picture taken at our fall photo booth featuring an alpaca from Cedar Hollow Alpaca Farm!

Student Health and Wellness will be joining the Student Success Centre in celebrating Halloween on October 31st in Simcoe Hall & Heritage Place! Be sure to wear your best costume and participate in a series of engaging and fun activities with lots of candy and prizes to be won!

Drop by Simcoe Hall between 11am - 2pm, or Heritage Place between 1-3pm, for Halloween themed activities, games, trick-or-treat scavenger hunt and more! 

There will also be free treats and hot apple cider! 

Come test your skills against the Randomizer on Monday, November 6th from 11 am – 1 pm, in the Orsi Family Learning Commons. The Responsible Gambling Council is presenting its new program the Randomizer for young adults with an interactive kiosk, specially staffed display and fantastic giveaways including three scholarship awards. Cold and flu season is upon us! One of the best ways to prevent getting sick is getting your annual flu shot. Student Health and Wellness is hosting a Flu Shot Clinic for students, faculty, and staff.

A health card is not required to get a flu shot, but it you have a health card, please bring it.

Join the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, Student Health and Wellness, and the Office of Human Rights and Equity for a Tea & Chat to honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQ+ peoples, learn about the 231 Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry into MMIWG2S, and implement a Call to Justice within your own life.

The Office of Indigenous Initiatives will be having a sacred fire on October 4th to allow for the community to gather, talk, remember, and hold vigil.
