As Reading Week approaches, a great way to prioritize your self-care is by cuddling up with a new book! Join Student Health and Wellness in Simcoe Hall to go on a blind date with a book and prioritize yourself this reading week and beyond. We will have books wrapped up and available for you to take, as well as wrapping paper and markers for you to bring your own books and participate in a book swap.

Join Student Health & Wellness in recognizing Eating Disorder Awareness Week, a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness, challenging misconceptions, and promoting support for those affected by eating disorders. This event aims to create a safe, inclusive space for learning and open dialogue around body image, mental health, and recovery.

Need some fuel to start your day? You're invited to Breakfast Bar! Happening every Wednesday from 9 am - 11 am, drop by to make your own breakfast, learn some low-cost and nutritious breakfast recipes and cost-saving strategies, and connect with peers. We will occasionally have special guests present to share information about timely topics. Breakfast will include toast and yogurt, both with a variety of toppings that will rotate each week. On occasion, we'll also have special feature items for you to try!

Drop by Heritage Place to enjoy some pizza and help pack meal kits! Food donations have been collected all month long and are ready to be packed into meal kits for students.
Once packed, the meal kits will be available for any student to pick up for free.

Student Health and Wellness invites staff and faculty to visit the Wellness Centre. See the space, meet SHW staff, and learn about the health services and mental health supports available to students and how to make referrals. Did you know that some health services are available to staff and faculty? Drop by the open house to learn more! Coffee will be provided!

As part of National Non-Smoking Week, Lakehead students, staff, and faculty are invited to stop by to connect with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and explore resources related to smoking, vaping, and other nicotine products. Student Health and Wellness will also share practical strategies for building and sustaining healthy habits.
Whether you are thinking about quitting, cutting back, or supporting someone else, this event offers an opportunity to ask questions and gather information about nicotine cessation.
The event is open to the Lakehead community.
