(OR) Therapeutic Arts Workshop Series - Creative Exploration: Mapping Self-Care

Event Date:
Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - 1:30pm to 3:30pm EDT
Event Location:
OA 3041
Event Contact Name:

Event Contact E-mail:

Join Brooke Kalverda, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Professional Art Therapist, and Therapeutic Arts Practitioner, for an engaging and reflective workshop centered on creativity, self-discovery, self-care, and personal growth.

Through a combination of guided reflection, creative exploration, and visual expression, participants will have the opportunity to pause, reconnect with themselves, and explore the practices, people, places, and resources that support their overall well-being.

During the workshop, participants will be guided in creating a personalized Self-Care Map, a visual representation of the strategies, activities, relationships, environments, and resources they can turn to when they need to rest, recharge, reconnect, or nurture themselves. No previous artistic experience or creative skills are required. The focus is not on creating a “perfect” piece of art, but rather on using creativity as a meaningful way to reflect, explore, and express.

This workshop offers a supportive and welcoming space to consider what self-care looks like on an individual level and how creative practices can help us better understand our needs, strengths, and sources of support. Participants will leave with a personalized visual map that can serve as a reminder and practical resource for incorporating intentional self-care into their everyday lives.

Please note: While this workshop is therapeutic in nature and draws on principles of therapeutic arts and creative self-exploration, it is not Art Therapy. The workshop is educational and experiential rather than a substitute for individualized psychotherapy or formal Art Therapy services.

There will be a maximum of 8 participants in the group. You will be notified if you are on the waitlist.
