But wait there's more! Take a moment to check-in with your mental health and spend a few mindful moments by completing a WellU Key check-in and doing a stressbuster with Student Affairs staff.

Outdoor Mindful Meditation

Take a mindful pause with us during CMHA Mental Health Week. Join SHW Counsellor Holly Maki for a calming outdoor meditation session at the Wellness Path Labyrinth, located by the Bora Laskin Education Building. This guided practice will help you ground yourself, connect with nature, and recharge.

Open to all members of the Lakehead community—students, staff, and faculty are all welcome. No experience necessary. 

In case of inclement weather, the session will be moved indoors to the Student Health and Wellness Activity Room.

Let's Get Active: Spin Class

Join us for Let's Get Active: a series of engaging fitness classes and activities exclusively for Lakehead graduate students, faculty, and staff! Hosted by Athletics and Student Health and Wellness, these sessions are designed to promote physical health, mental well-being, and a sense of community within our campus.

Each class will offer a unique opportunity to engage in different forms of exercise, from yoga and bocce to strength training and outdoor adventures. Whether you're looking to destress, stay active, or try something new, there's something for everyone!

March's session will be a Group Fitness class led by a qualified instructor.

Spring is in the air! Join Student Health and Wellness and the Orillia Engagement Committee for a Spring Cleanup - help clean up our community, enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and connect with others.  We'll meet in front of Simcoe Hall at 12pm, and then wander out towards University Ave and see where the litter takes us! There will be a second group heading out at 12:30pm as well.

Garbage bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided.

This event is open to students, staff, and faculty.

Stop by any time from April 2nd - 17th to get what you need to have a healthy and successful exam period. You can also check-in with your mental health with the WellU Key Mobile Kiosk! As the academic year winds down, take time to thank those who helped you get through it, whether it be a prof, roommate, family member, GA, or colleague.   Use the form below to send a note to someone you are grateful and Student Health and Wellness will deliver it to them before  April 10.

Not only will this thank you card spread positivity to the person receiving it, but it will help you too! Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Expressing gratitude can help people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships- so this exercise could be the start of your new wellness habit!
