LakeheadU uses shared radio spectrum, it primarily provides light-duty access for the convenience of mobile clients, as an adjunct to the wired network.

The connection mechanism requires authentication as a member of  Lakehead University using your myEmail account. Since wireless uses a shared medium, we require SSL is in place before accessing any personal or sensitive information. Many applications are designed to use SSL-secured web pages (https protocol) to ensure that a password or other sensitive data is not passed in clear-text where it may be susceptible to snooping.
