You are invited to Wiigwasitig Gitigaan ‘Birch Tree Garden’ Harvest!

Join Student Health & Wellness, Indigenous Initiatives, and Orillia Native Women's Group (ONWG) from 10 am to 12 pm to harvest sweet grass in the Medicine Wheel Teaching Garden. Sweet grass teachings will be given by the grandmothers of ONWG.

Gardening is a fun and relaxing activity that supports many facets of wellness including emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental wellbeing. It helps distract the mind, putting it into a quiet and relaxed state, while positively impacting mood and brain chemistry. Please bring water, a hat and sunscreen. Light refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome.

Join us for Student Health sun salutations and downward-facing dogs this semester. 

Student Health and Wellness is happy to offer FREE yoga to Lakehead students, faculty and staff. Classes are held outside and are led by a qualified instructor. No experience or registration is required.

Some mats and props are available but bring your own if you have one.

Note: classes are outdoors so they will be weather permitting! If you can't attend the entire class that's okay, you can drop in and leave as needed.

Student Health and Wellness have partnered with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to offer Naloxone training to Lakehead students. Participants will learn about the symptoms of opioid overdose and when and how to use naloxone.

There is no cost for the training, however, registration is required and spaces are limited. Each participant will receive a naloxone kit.
