Are you feeling overwhelmed, or like you just can't keep up with everything coming your way over the next few weeks? You’re not alone, and what you feel is probably normal. Remember, it’s okay to not be okay. With the end of the school year coming up there’s often a lot still to do before we can take a break, check-out for the summer, and let go of what’s been stressing us for the last 6 or 7 months.
School is hard, but we’re here to help. Join staff from Student Health & Wellness outside the Main Cafeteria on March 2nd between 1:30pm and 3:30pm to learn about the effects of academic burnout, supports on campus to help you manage, and even pick up some helpful tips to reduce the likelihood of academic burnout.
It can often be a challenge to take a minute to ourselves, so why not make self-care a habit and Take10.

Join Student Health and Wellness for a live, counsellor-led workshop to learn skills, strategies and tips on preparing, studying and coping with the stress of tests/exams.

Join us every Wednesday in March for a short guided mindfulness practice. No registration or experience required.

As staff and faculty, you are often the first to recognize that a student is in distress so it is important that you feel equipped to identify these behaviours and also understand how you can help. The Supporting Students in Distress Guide and accompanying workshop outline the various levels of distress and the resources you can provide for a student in each level of distress. We will also cover available supports in various areas, both on and off-campus including Counselling and Wellness, Academic Services, Disability Services, Legal and Conduct, and Community Supports.
Graduate students are welcome to attend.
Registration required, session delivered via zoom.

“To toke, or not to toke. That is the question.”
Did you know that scientists found 400-year-old pipes in Shakespeare’s garden outside his home in Stratford-upon-Avon. Out of the 24 pipes they found, eight of them contained traces of cannabis. As it turns out, people have been growing cannabis for more than 12,000 years, making it one of humanity’s oldest crops. It can be used in construction, clothing, and even plastic. And the best part is that all of these options are eco-friendly.
Whether you’re a seasoned smoker, or curious to try beers cousin (cannabis and beer hops are in the same family of flowering plants), join staff from Student Health & Wellness in Bartley Front February 22nd from 1:30pm and 3:30pm to learn more about cannabis, the differences between THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids, and even bake a cookie* - yes you can eat them, no they won't get you high.
*cookies will not contain any actual cannabis products.
