Windows 10 - NON SUPPORT NOTICE

End of Support for Windows 10

As of October 14, 2025, Microsoft has officially end support for Windows 10. In alignment with this change, Lakehead University will also no longer provide support for Windows 10 devices.

Students may continue to use Windows 10 on their personal devices; however, please note that these devices will suffer some limitations:

  • unable to run various applications from the TSC website
  • unable to use printing services
  • may connect to LakeheadU wifi, but will not receive connection support from TSC

Staff will not be able to use Windows 10 on institutional devices. Any staff computers running Windows 10 will require replacement. IT Services will work with departments to coordinate upgrades or replacements as needed.

We encourage all users to transition to a supported operating system to ensure continued access to network resources, printing, and technical support.
