Christmas Holiday Closure – Additional Paid Days Off

In addition to the official Christmas statutory holidays, the University designates three (3) additional paid days off during the Christmas Holiday period.

• These three days are paid days off, but they are not statutory holidays and therefore do not qualify for premium pay.

• Full-time employees who are required to work on any of these days will receive straight-time pay for all hours worked or alternate paid time off (equal to the hours worked), as mutually agreed with their supervisor, unless otherwise specified in a Collective Agreement.

• Part-time employees who have a regularly scheduled shift during the closure should have those hours entered on their timesheet for payment. Part-time employees without scheduled shifts during the closure will generally not be paid unless otherwise approved by their department or supervisor.
