(OR) Therapeutic Arts Workshop Series - Identity Exploration: Behind the Mask

Join Brooke Kalverda, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Professional Art Therapist, and Therapeutic Arts Practitioner, for an engaging and reflective workshop centered on creativity, identity exploration, self-discovery, and personal growth.
Through a combination of guided reflection, creative exploration, and visual expression, participants will have the opportunity to pause, reconnect with themselves, and explore the different layers of their identity, including the roles they play, the qualities they value, and the parts of themselves that may not always be visible to others.
During the workshop, participants will be guided through a creative mask-making activity titled Behind the Mask, exploring the relationship between how they present themselves to the world and how they understand themselves internally. Through the use of colors, symbols, words, and mixed-media materials, participants will create a personalized mask representing the different aspects of their identity, including their values, experiences, interests, aspirations, and the expectations they may encounter in their everyday lives. No previous artistic experience or creative skills are required. The focus is not on creating a “perfect” piece of art, but rather on using creativity as a meaningful way to reflect, explore, and express.
This workshop offers a supportive and welcoming space to celebrate individuality, deepen self-awareness, and reflect on how our identities continue to evolve through our experiences, relationships, and environments. Participants will have the opportunity to consider what makes them unique, recognize the many dimensions of who they are, and embrace the ongoing journey of self-discovery.
Please note: While this workshop is therapeutic in nature and draws on principles of therapeutic arts and creative self-exploration, it is not Art Therapy. The workshop is educational and experiential rather than a substitute for individualized psychotherapy or formal Art Therapy services.
There will be a maximum of 8 participants in the group. You will be notified if you are on the waitlist.
