Climate anxiety is a normal response to a world on fire. The trick is not to stay alone with it. Join Jennifer Chesnut, Lakehead PhD student and Rachel Portinga & Carolina Camacho from Lakehead’s Sustainability Office, for an introductory climate emotions workshop. Alongside information and support resources, there will be opportunities to talk about climate feelings using a group process called the Work That Reconnects. Since the 1970s, the Work That Reconnects has helped thousands of people to increase solidarity, resilience, and the courage to act in the face of escalating environmental issues. This is a workshop for Lakehead students and staff who want to understand climate emotion strategies for themselves and/or their networks. We will do a handful of short activities, using the chat function and break-out rooms.

Pre-registrations are helpful, but drop-ins will be welcomed. Bring paper/pencil.

Open to students, staff and faculty.

Note: The Work That Reconnects is a community-based learning process. It is not led by mental health experts.
