Print Accommodations

To reduce barriers for students with vision, cognitive disabilities and or medical conditions the student may provide medical documentation supporting the need for larger font size or a test/exam/quiz printed on a specific colour of paper. For example the Accommodation Letter could state;

  • Test/Exam/Quiz printed on: Light blue paper

  • Test/Exam/Quiz enlarged to font size: 18 pt

In Person Tests/Exams/Quizzes

If the test is an in person test the student is responsible to book the test with SAS following SAS guidelines for requesting testing accommodations;

  • Instructors are responsible for ensuring that their test/exam/quiz is accessible. Resources for how to make course materials accessible can be found on the SAS Webpage. If you require further assistance please contact the Teaching Commons.

  • SAS will enlarge or copy the test on the appropriate colour of paper required by the student.

Online Tests/Exams/Quizzes

If the test is an online test the student would use their own device for writing the test/exam/quiz.

  • Instructors are responsible for ensuring that their test/exam/quiz is in an accessible format that enables students to enlarge the material and use built in computer features or adaptive software. Resources for how to make course materials accessible can be found on the SAS Webpage. If you require further assistance please contact the Teaching Commons.

Students have been advised to contact their SAS Advisor with questions or concerns regarding the accessibility of an online test.
