Missed Test/Exam/Quiz Rescheduling Accommodation
Students with a test/exam/quiz rescheduling accommodation may on rare occasions be incapacitated and unable to write a scheduled test/exam/quiz due to serious fluctuating functional limitations related to disability and/or medical condition symptoms.
Not all students registered with SAS have a test/exam/quiz rescheduling accommodation; Instructors should refer to a student's accommodation letter for confirmation of their accommodations.

The expectations of students for the use of the missed test/exam/quiz rescheduling accommodation include:
The student may only utilize this accommodation once per test/exam/quiz.
The student is responsible for rescheduling the missed test/exam/quiz to ensure it is completed within a 2 week period; following SAS procedures and guidelines for rescheduling.
- The use of this accommodation is rare. The rescheduling of multiple tests/exams/quizzes or subsequent requests to reschedule the same test/exam/quiz must be considered by the SAS Advisor. Please see the procedure listed below under Exceptional Circumstances for further information.

SAS recognizes that there may be significant disability/medical impacts that may result in further rescheduling or delays in the completion of the missed test/exam/quiz. Students must contact their SAS Advisor in a timely manner for any further requests to be considered.

1. The student is expected to send an email to the instructor and their SAS Advisor prior to the start time of the assessment. (SAS has provided students with an email template they can utilize to ensure the appropriate information is being shared.) If instructors have any questions they can reach out to the student's SAS Advisor. 2. Once an assessment has been missed the student should be rescheduling the assessment as soon as possible with the SAS office. The expectation is that the student will complete the missed assessment within a 2 week period of the originally scheduled date. SAS requires a minimum of 7 days notice from the student to book rescheduled tests/exams/quizzes.
3. Once SAS has received the rescheduled test/exam/quiz proposal from the student, SAS will reach out to the instructor to present the proposal.
4. Once a date/time has been agreed to SAS will communicate this to the student. The instructor is asked to provide the test/exam/quiz to the SAS office prior to the rescheduled assessment date: SAS is open Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
5. SAS will contact the instructor when an in person rescheduled assessment has been completed for pick up at the SAS office. |
