Equipment and Aids in the Test Room (in person only)

Students may face barriers related to the functional limitations of their specific disability that can be supported by specific equipment or aids. SAS provides or coordinates aids/equipment required by students for in person/on campus tests/exams/quizzes. Instructors are not responsible to provide aids/equipment.

The Accommodation Letter will state:

Equipment

  • Footstool or chair for support (for in person tests written with SAS)

  • Podium (for in person tests written with SAS)

  • Supportive chair with adjustable height (for in person tests written with SAS)

  • Noise cancelling headphones (provided by SAS for in person tests written with SAS)

Aids

  • Music - provided by SAS for in person tests written with SAS

  • Dark glasses and/or brimmed hat - student provided/ invigilator to inspect

  • Sensory item - student provided/Invigilator to inspect

  • Use of Dictionary (hard copy or computer software, SAS to provide)

  • Use of a non-programmable calculator

Students writing in person/on campus tests/exams/quizzes are responsible to register to write these assessments with the SAS office and request any specific accommodation needs.
