Entrepreneurial Co-op

What is E-Co-op?

Entrepreneurial Co-op (E-Co-op) students, rather than applying to work for an employer partner, receive support to develop and launch their own business, while earning a co-op credit. Students will work closely with Ingenuity office and  will have access to mentors, entrepreneurs and professional supports. Students will receive a monetary $5000 award to support the conception of the business during the Entrepreneurial Co-op term. 

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for E-Co-op, students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be registered, in good academic standing, in a program that includes the option to participate in co-operative education

  • Apply by established co-op work term application deadlines, with intent to complete a maximum 4-month entrepreneurial co-op work term

  • Be approved by their program co-op faculty advisor as well as the designated E-Co-op leads in Ingenuity and the Co-op program office

  • Have a well conceived business plan in draft form and/or have attended a program offered by Ingenuity.

  • Be prepared to dedicate 35+ hours per week to their E-Co-op (ie: must be available for full-time time commitment over the course of the work term)
