Early and Safe Return to Work

We believe that a timely and well-managed return to work following a workplace injury or illness is essential not only for a smooth recovery but also for maintaining a sense of connection and purpose. Our commitment is to support our employees through these times with compassion and care, prioritizing their well-being and a safe return to meaningful work. This program focuses on individual needs and abilities and aiming to facilitate a gradual and sustainable reintegration into the workplace. We are dedicated to working closely with each employee, their healthcare providers, and their supervisors to create a supportive and personalized plan that fosters healing and promotes a successful return. Our goal is to ensure that every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered throughout their recovery journey and return to work.

For employees returning to work following an extended illness (>4 weeks) or surgery or those that may require medical accommodation please follow the process outlined here:  Medical Accommodations (Employee) | Lakehead University
