Google Data Transfer Notification
Overview
Some users may notice a notification banner in Gmail or other Google Workspace applications prompting them to transfer or back up their data to another Google account. This notification is generated by Google and you may safely dismiss it.
Why Am I Seeing This Message?
Google periodically displays informational banners to help users manage their account data and explore available account features. One of these features allows users to copy eligible content, such as emails and files, to another Google account. The appearance of this notification does not indicate that there is an issue with your account.
Who Should Use This Feature?
This feature may be useful for individuals who are leaving the University and wish to retain copies of personal content stored in their Google account before access is removed.
Examples include: Graduating students, Retired employees, Former staff members, and Individuals whose University account will be deactivated.
