I have a Master of Social Work degree from Lakehead University and have over eight years of experience working within education settings as a school social worker.  I practice primarily through a mindfulness lens supporting clients with interventions and approaches that are client-centred, strengths-based and trauma and attachment informed.
Alexa, (she/her) MSW, RSW
Within my clinical practice I strive to ensure clients feel listened to, understood, and that therapy is centered on their unique goals and values. Prior to working at Lakehead, I worked with children, youth, and young adults both in clinical settings, as well as through youth outreach work and within the foster care system. My therapeutic approach draws from narrative practice, mindfulness-based CBT, internal family systems, ACT and somatic-based approaches. Additionally, I am trained through Rainbow Health Ontario to provide a secondary assessment in support of those seeking gender confirmation surgeries.
