As an ambassador for Lakehead University, the Donor Stewardship Manager is a member of the External Relations team, reporting to the Associate Vice-President & Campaign Director and working directly with the Vice-President of External Relations and volunteer leaders.

 

The Donor Stewardship Manager is the ideal opportunity for a person seeking campaign experience and who wants to grow their opportunities in the fundraising profession. The role is pivotal to keeping donors engaged with Lakehead University and our vision for the future.

 

 

DUTIES

  • In partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, oversee the implementation of the donor stewardship and recognition programs, and events that foster positive long-term relationships
  • Ensure that Lakehead University exemplifies the principles of donor-centred practices and processes and demonstrates to donors the importance and impact of their investments
  • Ensures donors are properly cultivated and recognized and that ongoing stewardship occurs throughout the relationship cycle;
  • Develops donor fundraising strategy in conjunction with External Relations philanthropy and marketing colleagues
  • Oversees and maintains accounting associated with event planning including recording expenditures and remittances, depositing registration fees, reconciling accounts and invoicing
  • Strategic oversight of event schedule, proximity of events and functions in an effort to avoid conflicts

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma
  • 2+ years of experience for donor stewardship and planning and executing events
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and to handle multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience overseeing large budgets and preparation of financial statements
  • Strong skills in the following computer programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff and manage performance
  • Strong customer service skills, professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
