The Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH) has an opening for a full-time equivalent (FTE) Knowledge Broker.

 

Under the general direction Dr. Elaine Wiersma, the incumbent will work to enhance community capacity through knowledge translation and networking. The incumbent will plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate geriatric mental health and dementia education to interprofessional health and social care providers (with a specialized focus in Northwestern Ontario), family care providers, and people with lived experience to increase the local community capacity to provide support for geriatric mental health and dementia. The incumbent will also assist with the development of evidence-based geriatric mental health education curriculum.

 

Duties include program and curriculum development, including coordinating, arranging logistics for and resourcing course facilitators, program delivery and evaluation, collaboration and partnerships with community agencies, providers and local communities, financial planning, reporting and seeking new opportunities for program growth areas. Qualifications for this position include the following:

 

• Masters degree in Aging, Health, Gerontology or Dementia

• Knowledge and experience in adult education, curriculum development, and education event planning

• Experience in evaluation and evidence appraisal

• Experience working with people with lived experience

• Demonstrated ability to organize workload, set priorities and work within deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of community partners and resources

• Proficiency in use of applications and technology that support teaching, learning and

  curriculum development

• Solid judgment, problem-solving and negotiation skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Flexibility in a changing environment and varied demands

• Ability to form and maintain relationships through teamwork and networking
