As an ambassador for Lakehead University, the Administrative Coordinator works directly with the Vice-President, External Relations and is an integral member of the External Relations Team.  The successful candidate will provide strategic advice and support to the Vice-President, External Relations on issues that may be highly confidential and require problem solving and decision-making. As this position holds extremely confidential information, it is essential that the incumbent be above reproach in this area. The Coordinator will manage and monitor the annual gift processing for fundraising revenue, and work with the External Relations Team to reach annual fundraising targets by providing reports and analysis. The Coordinator also supports the scheduling and coordination of meetings with VIP donors and volunteers for Lakehead University.

 

The Coordinator manages, supervises and develops the Administrative Group including the Campaign Operations Associate and the Gift and Database Administrator positions. They will provide training, direction and coaching/mentoring practices that promote individual and team competence, productivity and solutions. External Relations is implementing an institutional Campaign and therefore, the Administrative Coordinator's responsibilities will include managing donor relations, creating reports, solicitation by various avenues, donor research, coordinating the hiring and annual budgeting, and ensuring the database has the most current information.

 

The Administrative Coordinator will demonstrate and uphold the External Relations and Vice-President’s core values, culture and stellar reputation in all interactions with donors, faculty, staff, alumni, community partners and visitors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

-          Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Management, Education or similar.

-          Managerial experience is required: minimum of three years’ experience in an office Management role.

-          Experience in roles of progressive management/operations responsibility and extensive experience in a senior administrative capacity.

-          Experience overseeing budgets of substantial size and complexity.

-          Demonstrated success in the evaluation of process and protocol with the proven ability to recommend and implement strategic initiatives.

-          Experience supervising, guiding, coaching and mentoring staff and fostering constructive team relationships.

-          Proven leadership skills, including the ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve desired outcomes and the ability to build agreement without relying solely on authority.
